It was heavily based on that one hit song (which actually started the whole alternative revival and really deserves credit for bringing indie pop mainstream, Fun. wouldn't have happened without Pumped Up Kicks), and they waited way too long, 3 years since their debut album which for a new act in this day and age is bad.
Sometimes waiting too long and no hit is all it takes for a massive, massive dive in sales with the next album....happened to No Doubt, Smashing Pumpkins, Counting Crows in the 90s.
I've seen some people credit Neon Trees w/ Animal the year before but PUK felt like more of a harbinger of the trend that's since followed.

I'm here for Gaga making more SXSW type of performances in the correct places, but she better not apologize or excuse N-E-THING. People tend to forget that she was DRAGGED for everything in the beggining and peak of her career.

Her I Kissed A Girl performance in that awards show is the closest thing to anything iconic Katy will ever do. I don't know why her fans don't use it more often. It was so good.

No one cares about him anymore (or his family). Everyone basically ditched Will Smith,
in favor of Obama and Drake, which are the new mulattos that America likes.
