Where sis?? The fun thing about wikipedia is you can click on each link and see the quotes/recreations of her art signifying janet's influence etc...... The fact you couldn't refute with a full fledged response means I stand corrected
Using utube as reciepts of her influence on Bey and claiming that Janet made it possible for Bey to be sexsual on stage is definately reaching.
Okay Beyonce's current album success is driving this forum crazy, how did everyone went from calling her a flop last year because of 4 to being the supreme legend of her generation because she sold 3 million albums?
I think everyone is biased here, she is huge but she is not a legend yet, she's a huge celebrity right now but bigger than Janet Jackson? She's still a few years to take those down

Well the current success of MSCSWT is a step in the right direction.
Does she have songs as great (according to music expert) as Crazy In Love, Single Ladies, Countdown or Irreplaceable?
Janet's albums are great but not as ground-breaking as her fans think.
Either way "music experts" opinions are subjective
Some of you really have this mindset that just because an artist is currently successful/has been able to maintain success for some time, they're somehow greater than another artist of a previous generation who fell off, completely disregarding the fact that their influence and accomplishments are extremely significant. This, and the fact that you all confuse celebrity/stardom/tabloid popularity for influence, which is exactly why you think Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and so on are "legends", yet actual pioneers and legends like Janet are called "local" and are said have made "no impact".
And it's not because you didn't live to see them at their peak. It's because you like to ignore facts.
"I've never heard of Janet Jackson" will never be a valid argument or reason as to why she doesn't have impact. She is a more influential artist than Beyonce is, by far.
Wait. Janet made it possible for B to be sexual on stage? Women have been sexual on stage going back to the 40s And saying without Janet there wouldn't be a Beyonce? There is nothing about Beyonce that says Janet

I said because Janet was the main inspiration for youtube and facebook. That helped give Beyonce the platform and many other starlets of today to reach a bigger audience/benefit from it (see the viral sensation SL). The viral sensation wouldn't have happened had it not been for Janet.
And as far as being sexual
Rolling Stone in its review of Janet Jackson’s 1993 album:
“janet.'s Janet is a more complete sexual being than most of pop's black women are allowed or allow themselves to be. No Hottentot Venus (an objectified, sexually available black female)
Academics have noted that the erotic imagery in her music videos released to promote the album's singles have contributed to a higher degree of sexual freedom among women.
and acknowledged her as an influence. Where am I reaching again?? Do you want me to bring up how Janet's blend of r&b, rap and pop is a style Beyonce uses?? What about the fact independent woman anthems such as "What Have You Done For Me Lately" & "Nasty" etc... didn't influence Beyoince to make those strong woman songs?? etc.. I mean the writing is on the wall and has been explained to death .
Like how do I need to explain this to you and Pulse when examples and receipt's have already been shown countless times

A. you aren't reading my posts
B. You aren't comprehending them well enough
C. you just like not to read facts I mean how else do you want me to explain it to you?? For you to get it
All of you saying so and so is reaching have yet to provide receipts as to why Beyonce has more impact. The Janet fans have provided ample receipts and none of you can refute it with receipts. Sales and tour gross does not equate impact so come with something deeper.
