Jay-Z isnt the best lyricst alive either but he's always Top 10 not because of his lyrics soley, but because of his persona, his delivery, the tone he sets in the song. Lyricism does matter but having a unique persona is more important
Jay Z is one of the best lyricist alive and Lupe Fiasco is one of the best, Lupe is my FAVE male rapper but Hit's is also important in establishing yourself, I'm of the sound belief that some of the best rappers will go unfounded and remain underground because they do not have commercial appeal.
I hated Slw, he was a mess at first and tried it several times with weak shade of course but now he has humbled himself and is done with this "newbie" persona he had.
