I think we kind of just have to approach ARTPOP like 4, in a way.

Let Gaga hustle with performances, videos and touring to keep her name out there until the next album. Hits are unlikely, but the average person doesn't know or care about sales and charts so the actual releasing of singles is somewhat by the by. Getting people to watch new videos and maybe liking the song enough to win them back however slightly (even if they don't buy it/the album) will help prep for album #5. And convince them to buy tour tickets if they were on the fence.

Yes maybe Brooklyn Nights should have replaced J&D on the album, it would fit it better anyways.
The tracklist really needs to be re-worked like it doesn't flow really well.
Venus, G.U.Y. Mary Jane Holland, Sexxx Dreams, Brooklyn Nights and Fashion! should have been next to each other. I Like Dope, Applause and Gypsy together at the end of the album. Aura sounds like the only possible opener to me. Donatella needs to come after Fashion!
MANiCURE and Swine should have been right before DWUW then comes Dope.
ARTPOP should stay at the middle and separate the two "kinds" of tracks
