Girls like Ke$ha and Britney don't have any artist conviction of their own so they end up releasing songs calculated to be hits. If Ke$ha actually followed her musical ear, she'd be making flop music like her collab w/ Alice Cooper (though Warrior is pretty much the biggest flop in music pop history too).

They just consistently release average stuff. WANEGBT, P!nk consistent AC fodder, Adele's bland fluff, Miguel's boring music are not interesting. And Ke$ha has more talent than Rihanna, not only she is a better live performer, but she writes all (or most) her stuff. She has solo writing credits on several songs.
