The tearing apart from You and I to the beginning of the Applause era was so unnecessary and simple hate. Artpop deserved to be torn apart but not so much its music (even if there are a good amount of songs I'd delete ).

As gaga's said before, it's become cool to hate on her.

I'm curious to hear what she brought to the table the first time around for Interscope to completely reject it.
I feel, like judaskills said, that she originally had a really dark and bleak album (I'm sure that wasn't meant to be ARTPOP. Most likely would've had a different title entirely). That was probably the material made from mid 2011 to mid 2012. I think around May/June 2012 is when she really started delving into the idea of using lots of EDM/trap in the album. I think she had a really good mix of that, but her label may have rejected it just before or after the hip fracture. Imo most of the material on the album was probably written from February-September 2013. "Aura", "G.U.Y.", "Mary Jane Holland", "Applause", "ARTPOP", and "Gypsy" seem like the only tracks from 2012 from the rejected version of ARTPOP that made it.
The rest of the world didn't. But I'm referring to all of the negative publicity and press she recieved after You and I that started from the VMAs, went to Marry The Night, went on to the tour, to people shaming her for being "fat," and then shaming her for breaking her hip.
She's angry/upset... Wouldn't you be too? If you worked on an album for two long years and everything you do, whether it's good or bad is consistently trashed and bashed. At which point do you stop giving a **** and do what you want to do, instead of what some label head tells you to do? We can't even say for sure that the downfalls of the era are her fault because we all know DWUW was the labels idea. I agree though, as long as she's happy I'm happy. And if she's doing drugs I want her to stop.
I agree completely ,
but it's not like she didn't write DWUW. She did. Same with Applause. Let's not go there and blame the record company. After all, it was she who presented them the songs, not the other way around.

I agree, I think a lot of what was originally going to be on the album was kinda thrown into some of DJWS's mix sets and the Versace thing Spring 2013 but none of that ever made the album.
