Loki is such an awesome villain, Thor's first movie was nice since it was directed by Kenneth Branagh and it had this whole Shakespearean influence around it, the sequel was cute but well... It had that point missing, not even Anthony Hopkins could save it

The Departed deserved to win BP, but it's interesting. If you look up reviews for Pan's Labyrinth compared to TD, PL actually has a higher average score.

On Rotten Tomatoes, I pay more attention to the average score out of 10 than the actual percentage of favorable reviews.

How was A Separation not nominated for BP in 2012?

That year was really competitive. Forrest Gump, Pulp Fiction & The Shawshank Redemption were all nominated in the same year (three legit classics). PF is the best reviewed and most acclaimed out of the three 3, surprisingly.

Forrest Gump was an excellent film, but Pulp Fiction was really bold & daring.

Meh. Tarantino had better films with better character development like Kill Bill vol 1 & 2.

I would pick the former to win an Oscar over Pulp Fiction.
