She fired him, but it wasn't a just a day thing, the problems were there since summer and she/he already warned eachother that they wouldn't stick together. Gaga confirming what she thought that was going to happen (underperforming album, fans disappointed, etc) was the last straw for the situation. She agreeded on doing some things with Troy even when she was 90% that she was moving to another manager because she still believed the thing had salvation.
She firing him wasn't some kind of peaceful agreement, but they both knew what was going to happen if they weren't able to handle things.
She was almost out of the Top 40 a couple of days ago.
