I'd rather her work with completely new producers. I don't know get why she pulled in Zedd and Madeon when there are unknown, underground producers who are ten times better. She could really blow people away by pulling in some talented people that no one knows about.
(I really like Zedd and Madeon's work on ARTPOP so I don't hate them or anything.)

I totally ****ing agree. I don't have a strong distaste for Zedd or Madeon but what they make is so uninteresting in comparison to the other sounds that are out there right now. I was hoping Gaga would've tapped into something more underground and brought it out in a commercial pop form, but instead she kind of just opted for something obviously more boring.
I like the instrumental to Applause because I can tell there was an obvious 80s goth-synth influence there, but then the chorus becomes your a-typical
right now edm.
I wanted shimmering electronic ballads, Jessie Ware/Disclosure house minimalism, and 80s synths a la Depeche Mode, Vitalic, and Led Er Est and instead we just got okay dance/pop and her corn-ball balladry. I think the closest she came to what I wanted was with ARTPOP and Sex Dreams (and tbh I was very disappointed that she significantly reduced the volume of the "hee-hee"'s in ARTPOP).
