OK the popular pop girls here are Rihanna, Katy, Taylor (surprise), Adele and Hayley Williams (Paramore in general) + the Disney girls. And Shakira of course who is considered a sex symbol in Egypt (and the Middle East in general). She's by far the most well-known foreign female artist in Egypt. Everybody knows her name, although she has had only 3 hits here which are Wherever Whenever, Hips Don't Like and Waka Waka. She's the most well-known, but not the most successful here.
Britney is not really used here although Baby One More Time and Oops I Did It Again were in heavy rotation when they were released. She's well-known, but not listened to here. 1D and Bieber are popular here of course. Eminem is widely-popular here too as well as Linkin Park and Coldplay.
