+1 (sort of, i don't think the situations are comparable but i see your point)

it's made stupider by the fact that people are supposedly offended by her use of a religious text when she's not even part of that religion. it's completely illogical; people who aren't part of said religion have no basis for knowing what is/isn't allowed, and furthermore, have no impetus to care.

like it's one thing when a member of said religion does something blasphemous in which case it makes sense for the community to be offended, because they should know better since the object in question supposedly has meaning to them. but in this case...i have trouble understanding why extremely pious people expect people to care what is considered offensive to them and what isn't outside the realm of actual prejudice. the entire concept of religion is that people are able to make different choices about what their "absolute truth" is - the principle itself implies that it's relevant to the individual or the group it pertains to and no one else. CL's not muslim, why should she care? it's not relevant to her.

I think you're being too hard on him, censorship shouldn't be the solution at all I agree.
