Hi y'all I need help for my essay for my English course and I can't write good essays, could any of you give me a few tricks about how to write a better essay. Especially how to stay on topic

I'm having a bit of math trouble. When completing the square how/why do you get the -49 part? I don't understand it?

Original expression: (X^2 - 14X) -5
When solved: (X - 7)^2 -49 -5

Its added because when we solve the (x-7)^2 it is x^2 -14x+49. When you add (-49) to the result it becomes x^2-14x+49-49=> x^2-14x- which the original expression.. so basically -49 is added so we can take off +49 and get the original expression. Get it?

point, evidence, analysis is always what ive gone by. Make your point but always back it up with evidence then always analyse why its significant or what it mean, but it depends what you are writing about. p.s that probably didnt help you at all sorry

You have a mistake tho. 6^2 is 36 not 32. Your final results must be -6 + sqrt33 and -6-sqrt33

(30) * (1/5) = (30/5) = 6

Because 1/5 of the class is missing, 6 is the number of students missing from that class, not the answer.

To find the number of students present, subtract the number of absent students (6) from the number of students enrolled in the class (30):

30 - 6 = 24

I'm in college. I have to do a 20 page essay, due at the end of the month. A thesis to be exact

I've never done one before though, it's always been either a regular essay or a research paper that i've done in college. The topic I chose has to do with Photography

- Talking about how much this concept of photography has changed throughout the years (Digital vs. traditional photography)

- How much this change has had an impact on society throughout the yearse, and also on this day in age.

- Maybe talking about this idea of photography and how some people may not see it as a legit type of "art form" (some may say that when you paint a picture, a lot of concepts and ideas are put into it beforehand, but when you take a picture you just point, shoot, and be done with it)

Those are two of the points, I'm just not sure how to start the thesis off. A post here or PM would be awesome
