OT but I think Tiffany as a vocalist is definitely misunderstood. She has one of those voices where you think she's about to go off-key at any moment but she doesn't, and that withstanding, she's actually quite good. She probably has the greatest range out of the group even if she's not the best at manipulating it (that would be underrated vocal empress Sunny) and she's only improved over the years. Her technique could be better and her damn bridges are a hot mess but imo she's their second best vocalist.

Tiffany/Seohyun covered up for her perfectly to be honest. Like don't get me wrong, I like Sica in the studio but she isn't all THAT. Seo and Tae are the ones with the best control and range of their voices. Tiffany and Sunny are about equal second and Sica is definitely third.

It wouldn't be a group tho. It would be a sub-unit, where we know the focus would be on dance and less on vocals

Yeah it's loud and intense but that's why it's good. Hyoyeon is one of the only females in k-pop who could effectively work with this song too. Maybe CL could but the others would be demolished and lost in the production.

Tiffany's range is considerably amazing for having nodules, she must have put great effort into getting the voice she once had back. I can't not take my hat off to her for that.

I think other than her almost egotistical attitude, (that only really showed in their US interviews) Tiffany is one of my favourite SNSD members. As annoying as she can be something about her makes me really like her and vocally she's on top. Jessica is good, but she pushes her range and sometimes it can be uncomfortable to listen to. As someone above said, she's hardly all that. She's a reason TTS happened and JTS didn't.

I don't think it's the best album ever released or completely worth the wait but with songs like Gotta Be You, Good To You, Come Back Home, CL's Solo, it deserves the praise it is getting.

Only slightly. The album is alright. It's nothing special. It has some cute bops but it was not worth the 3+ year wait.

As long as we're talking about this I'll throw my two cents in. I think I agree, it's not a 10/10 album, and only 7 distinct new group tracks isn't exactly four-year-wait-material, but the album is still excellent and couldn't be further above their peers. We have high standards for them because their back catalog is kind of stunning, but on its own, Crush is a feat.

I let one of my friends who's completely clueless about k-pop listen to it and she was shocked by the overall quality, and said that it was, and I quote, "completely uncommon" for such a tight collection of well-made songs to be on one cohesive release. Not that one person is the be-all-end-all of critical interpretation but there you go.

EDIT: Overall Crush > To Anyone. I thought this was obvious. Their first album only has 7 group tracks on it anyway and Follow Me, Love is Pain, and I'm Busy are 3 of them. While I actually like at least the latter two, there is no Follow Me/Love is Pain/I'm Busy on Crush. Every song is quality. You could at least say the albums are evenly matched. I don't think Crush is as good as either of their minis but that's comparing oranges and apples. The more I listen to it the more I think it's not really in the shadow of their back catalog.
