"Rockferry" is not even expected to debut at number one on the BB 200 and just topped the albums chart on iTunes. I guess that the exposure that "Mercy" has received lately is actually working to make the album sell. Perhaps it will surpass the HDD predictions, I hope so.
"Mercy" might be a near-top 20 hit for her. I remember that "Feedback" had the same amount of airplay and a similar chart-run on iTunes that "Mercy" has had so far, the week it jumped from the 50's to the top 20 on the Hot 100.
I like Duffy, Mercy is a good song. But American Boy is so much better! Only if they *****d it on MTV/VH1 like they did with Duffy. It would do better.
VERY wishful thinking, but I'll go ahead with it: If this is successful at crossing over, and downloads keep increasing at this rate so that she dethrones Rihanna (highly unlikely, I know), she could have a shot at #1 on the Hot 100. Except the main problem is that she'd never in a million years get Urban support, which is pretty much crucial nowadays except for a few cases.
^Although I completely disagree with the #1 on the Hot 100 because #1, country singers rarely ever top the hot 100 and #2, this is her 5th single, I do believe that this should be sent out to pop radio as it could become a big crossover hit
