religion is really important to a lot of people its literally saved lives. its kinda dumb and doing a lot of harm but i really think its doing more good than bad it keeps people on their best behavior
Some of you literally need to stop. The fact that SYG has turned into a discussion about whether gay people should be condemned due to religious principles is enough proof you're shoving your beliefs down people's throats. You need to start believing in religious peace and let people believe whatever they want to believe. I never see non-religious people telling religious people that their God doesn't exist, especially in comparison to religious people telling non-religious people God exists.

But who is anyone to tell someone what to believe in or that something isn't real if you have no proof that it isn't?
And I also think many non-believers use the "the Bible/God/Jesus isn't real" thing to cover up what many people view as wrongdoings or sins so they can have a reason to keep doing it. It's the same case for believers, just in reverse.
Religion is just a complicated thing, so it's not really fair to say what's right or what's wrong about how people feel.

The thing is, I'm taking a religion class at my uni right now, and we look at the 5 major religions (Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism) and after a while, reading about them from the beginning and hearing the different origin myths, etc. You being to see a lot of religion has more to do with human psychology than actual metaphysical entities.

I mean this man dragged slave owners so bad he was killed for it, the way he called them out and just tossed their wigs around should be taught in schools. This man in DETAIL explained how and why US slavery is worse than that of Rome, Greece, and Sparta.
