Unless you have to access a database that isn't on the main web, you really have no legit business being there. I'm sure there's tons of disturbing things though.
It can be used by people in countries w/ restrictive censorship guidelines to access and transmit information freely... but it is mostly drugs, illegal firearms, and kiddie ****.

Of course they do. The FBI recently took down a massive site in it. Still, the Internet is uncontrollable. When they used to tell you in school "watch what you put on the Internet", they meant it.
All governments are pure evil. War is an enterprise in this world. Killing people is a business with many power players at stake (weapons companies, defense contractors, nuclear commissions, oil companies, military, politicians).
