BUT according to some janet stans in a thread I read a while ago, janet made some crucial mistakes that harmed her chances of recovery:

1. Cancelling the European dates to her 'All for You' tour after 9/11, alienating her European fans (keep in mind from janet. to AFY, Janet was actually kinda global - especially with 'Together Again' and 'All for You')
2. not touring for Damita Jo
3. apologizing??? Idk about this one.
4. releasing 20 YO??? Idk about this one either but some of her fans were saying she should have re-released 'Control' with new tracks instead.

It also didn't help that Janet was already on a decline. Janet: 15m or 20m idk, TVR: 10m, AFY: 7m so Damita Jo was naturally going to sell less. It's just the Superbowl exacerbated her decline.

So what? It was highly acclaimed and released by a monster in the media (There's literally an article about him everyday) so the lack of relevance can't be the excuse. Kanye will need to go the pop friendly route to sell.

I think Kendrick was the only one to scan platinum without the pop crowd (I'm not sure).

Frank's highly promoted album is also still not platinum.

Lol @ the Pop friendly route. You used Drake as an example before. HOWGH isn't a Pop song. It's R&B. Just because Pop radio plays a song doesn't make it intentionally Pop-friendly.

The only Pop friendly album Kanye has released was 808s.

Just because Pop fans LIKE a Hip-Hop act, doesn't mean said artist is intentionally trying to cater to them.
