The song wasn't nominated because it came out too early. Most films, songs, etc that get Oscar nominations are from films released closer to the voting period.
Y&B just wasn't as fresh on voter's minds and it's not even THAT good. Time to let it go already.
It's true. One of the most successful movie soundtrack songs of the year. Someone must have really hated her to fool voters into thinking it wasn't eligible. The fact someone had that much care in the world to send letters out to all the voting members over one damn song.
Still upset that she was snubbed. Even Rick Nowells considers this a classic track that will be remembered years down the line. It's already one of Lana's signature songs.
I will never understand why she wasn't nominated. It's the best soundtrack song to come out in YEARS.
Young and Beautiful is a great track and i still use it since the day i bought the soundtrack album. It was just not special you know. There are lots and lots better, similar songs released in today's music industry either from mainstream artists and independent ones. Like when i listen Skyfall i can get that special feeling and all but Y&B is a little mediocre for the Academy to nominate it and also give it a trophy.
For the scandal that is sending people fake letters, it's just a huge shame. Wish she had a chance to get into voting session. Let's just wait and see Once Upon a Dream smashing, Lana is and always will be a successful-respected artist anyways.

What are the haters scared of when it comes to Lana?? You see the same ones running into threads about her to spill the same old bile. Is it because she's basically had the last laugh on them and indeed the professional music critics who were so dismissive of her chances of survival in the business let alone the amazing success she's become in the last 2.5 years? Such a negative way to live your 'life'. Have a word with yourselves, why don't you? And the fact that some sad organism felt it worthwhile to send a fabricated article to members of the Committe just sums up the pure fear some saddos experience when they suspect Lana is in with a chance of a Big award in the US. Lana has balls of steel, clearly, and is far more mentally tough than any hater lol.
