any light, simple song, especially one of sentimental or romantic character, having two or more stanzas all sung to the same melody.
The contestants had to send in their artist's best ballad, or slow song. While some celebrated this round, others found it a bit difficult. Try to incorporate their explanations into your votes.
If you'd like, you can vote via PM to keep things suspenseful. I will not reveal your vote to anyone. Voting in the thread is still allowed.

I chose “White Horse” for the theme Slow Song/Ballad, it's a definition of light, simple song, especially one of SENTIMENTAL or ROMANTIC CHARACTER.
It's about a girl who was really in love with a guy, and maybe they were good friends, but he never knew she liked him that way. Then he did something to betray her trust, even told her he loved her and then hooked up with another girl, and now she realizes that he never was her "prince" and she's not a princess.
Especially the part:
"And there you are on your knees
Begging for forgiveness
Begging for me
Just like I always wanted
But I'm so sorry"
He's begging for her to forgive him, he's begging for her, just like she always wanted him to, but she's not going to forgive him, She gave him so many chances she can't even count, but he doesn't even appreciate her for anything. For any little thing or any big thing. Now, she realizes she has to stand up for herself, that she doesn't have to take all this, there is someone out there who will treat her better. She's not going to give him another chance, no matter how much she loves him.
So sad ending but it have to part that way

That's what emphasizes the emotions. The song is about her feeling that her whole world will die after a break up. This line: "Picked all my weeds but kept the flowers", is the best one from the whole song. A friend gave it to Kelly and she decided to use it . It's definitely one of the best Kelly Clarkson songs.

I know this choice is an extreme risk, but "Love Into The Light" is also a song going beyond borders lyrically and sonically, being risky itself. Now y'all are thinking - why in the hell would I choose this track? It's not only a slow song, or a ballad. It sends a heart wrenching message across, in a very unexpected manner. Instead of the ballad norm - piano, orchestral strings, etc. "Love Into The Light" roars with electric guitar, a discreet electro-drum thump and screeches of electronic cries throughout the track. Listen to the track over and over again, and you'll be able to feel that Ke$ha is laying out 110% of her heart and soul into this song, which is how all great ballads are formally made. In particular, listen to the bridge. "All of the **** talk, yeah all the chatter / Cuts like a knife, yeah kills like a dagger" is from the bridge, where Ke$ha showcases a very vulnerable moment in her discography. Other heartfelt lyrics from the song include: "I know I'm not perfect" /// "Can't we all, get over ourselves / And just stop, talking ****?" Ke$ha makes it her mission to spread the message that in all imperfection, love still lies and can still be spread throughout the world to make it a better place. Overall, "Love Into The Light" is a very unconventional ballad, but it's still filled with all the climactic moments and makings to be the incredible ballad it is. Ke$ha and I have come too far in this game, and we're not going down without a fight. Enjoy the song and may the best contestants make it forward to the next round

Arguably Demi's best ballad. The fact that it charted at #60 on the BB without being a single is an amazing achievement. Stans and non-stans adore this song because of how raw it is. I think everyone goes through breakup, the lyrics and the metaphors used are clever but so real. You can't help but relate to Demi, especially with her powerful vocals, you just connect with the emotions and the song. The instrumentals used in this song are magical. The violins are enchantingly haunting resulting in a sad, slow tone. Mix all of that together and you get Fix a Heart: the masterpiece.
Check out the live version of the song, just to show you how stunning Demi's vocals are.
