I feel it's likely.
- This minimal disco/groove sound is en vogue and is a logical progression for a dance/pop act.
- DWUW (and Sexxx Dreams)'s R&B groove struck a chord with people, and I doubt they're oblivious to that.
- The DWUW ft. X performance was so disco.
- Venus, whilst not really disco, feels very disco referential.
- Fashion! has more than nods to disco.
- She worked with Dallas and it seemed to be more notable than just 'hey lets remix an old demo for TLC'.
- She spoke about doing an album with Rick Rubin - so she's obviously keen to work with him.
- DJWS is a big part of ARTPOP, so I doubt she'd move on from him until she moves on from it.
- As for the 'surprise producer' - it'll be her/the label wanting to bring out the big guns for safety.
I think it's interesting to look at what she did at the last minute for AP. Venus, the new bridge on SD, DWUW and Fashion! are all in a similar disco/R&B/pop place...
Another observation: AP must have been very urban at one point (probably about 6+ months before release) with Jewel's N Drugs, Ratchet, Red Flame, PARTYNAUSEOUS, supposed Kanye collab (according to Azealia) etc. but they evolved it to be more current with those later additions. If she continued writing for ACT II...
