If it's something that's well known to attract controversy and trolling you should be wary of it; for example, any thread comparing Lady Gaga and Katy Perry is at risk of closure for the fighting the topic could bring. Sort of like it's balanced on the head of a pin. Sometimes such threads will be closed early as a measure against flamebait ever overtaking the discussion, so that members don't need to be warned and banned over resulting arguments.
