Single: Shakira - "Empire"

The song starts with a piano, while Shakira's is singing 'Take off all of your skin and breathe when your free' over it, then it gets more instrumentals and the first verse continues (or it's already the pre-chorus at that point, I'm not completely sure).
'And my heart beats like the empires of the world, we are alive' is what I would describe part of a pre-chorus, the first time you hear it's reasonably slow (But the second time you hear the pre-chorus it's more upbeat).
The song builds up to a chorus with 'and I'm like, and I'm like, but I'm like'. The first chorus consists of 'whooohoooh' being repeated with some weird effect and Shakira singing 'and I'm like' over it. Explaining this makes it sound weird or bad, but I think it works pretty good when you hear it.
It's pretty much a big positive love power ballad.
FYI, I'm pretty bad at explaining these things, but I hope it helps.

I don't think it has middle eastern sounds, maybe the effect on the 'whooohooh' part, but that sounds more like vocoder.

I liked this more on first listen, but Can't Remember To Forget You grew on me a lot too. I guess in the long run Empire will stand out as the better song. That's just my opinion, though.

I think the one getting scalped will be Hossan Ramzy saying TRIBAL belly dancers will love this. From the description Pat gave nothing was mentioned about middle eastern sounds lol. Thanks none the less, but as an old school fan I guess I just like when Shakira experiments with different sounds.

I do hear some type of drums, I also hear something that could explained as strings, but it's not that noticeable, considering it's one note, so it could be something else too. I'm not that good on recognizing what type of instrumentals are used anyway. You got the wrong person here.
