Kevin is kinda an asshole, tbh.
He was leading Patrick on the whole time and left out all the details of his boyfriend now being in SF full time.
Don't get me wrong, I think Patrick was delusional to think he was going to be in a full-fledged relationship with his boss, but there's still definitely something dishonest about Kevin's intentions.
I don't think Patrick is trying to prove anything to anyone with Richie. I think there obviously is a cultural divide, but, so what. I think he connected deeply with someone when he least expected it. That's what love is.
The
only reason he's having reservations about being with Richie is because his wack-ass, neurotic, uppity friends (mainly just Auggie) planted the seed. As if he's some prize...that's why that Rentboy is about to take his man literally right from under him.
I think I just got way too invested in this show.
They would make such a flawless couple, and I think their chemistry in episode 4 was much more than what we see with Richie and Patrick.
