I agree with all of this except I disagree with the song choices. "Birthday" and "Adore You" are the only songs I think are decent off those two albums. I also liked the first two singles off ARTPOP and "Gypsy" but otherwise, yeah, it's mostly an incoherent mess.

Also are we counting Lorde as a major pop girl yet? I hated "Royals" and I dislike her persona and the marketing surrounding her, but for the most part Pure Heroine is solid.

Pop radio rejected it and it peaked outside the top 20 on the Hot 100. Plus it was local. How is that not a flop for Miley?
