I already explained this before. Katy's appeal to adults is no mystery.
You know Legend Meryl's character in Devil Wears Prada? Well she played it really well. But she has many other roles she played just as well, however that one will forever be her most known role (for the generation that watched it in theaters/multiple TV reruns etc.) and her most impactful. Wanna know why? Cause that character is everything people strive to be
Beautiful, powerful, graceful, respected by her co-workers to the extreme etc.
Most people don't have that combination, so the movie/character worked as an escape from reality to them hence it being Meryl's biggest character to the current generation.
That's no different from Katy
Attractive, not afraid to live in her own world, not afraid to explore her childhood fantasies in her 20's. She represents an escape from reality to adults. That's why she's one of the most played on AC, and Pop. I said this a long time ago, and Wendy Williams confirmed it recently. She makes people feel young!
Of course she's a force on kids too, hence she's very powerful on radio disney too.
Vin may think K$ is the one who appeals to adults, but when those adults sober up I can assure you it's Katy they'll be playing in their ipods.
I probably couldn't name 3 radio stations.
