Yes she is, and she's a great vocalist. But the songs that she's been picking to release really aren't doing her any favours in that department. Sleepwalker probably is the best one.
Seriously though how good is "I Wanna ****ing Call You"?! At first I didn't know how to feel about it, I wasn't sure if it was too bubblegum or too generic or just too cheesy or whatever but I decided that I don't really care about any of that, it's a pop song, it's meant to be fun and lighthearted and it's catchy as hell.

I didn't like it at first but the chorus and the bridge are just pop perfection
I don't care how generic it is, it is just way too catchy for me to resist it.
And y'all can shade Bonnie as much as you want but fact is she is a good songwriter (she proved that often), she is not a bad performer and the good sis is a good singer too. I actually believe she is better than Kesha Better range, good control and no horrible technique
Eh, I dislike it. Aside from it being a blatant Last Goodbye rip-off in the chorus, the verse production is terrible, Pitbull's rapping is far worse than it was on Timber (it was actually kinda fun on Timber tbh) and G.R.L. literally do nothing vocally interesting on the chorus. It's just repeated recycled Dr. Luke-penned lyricism at its most basic. Essentially what Ke$ha wouldn't do.

All of this. She is technically a better vocalist than Kesha, sure. (Same goes for being better than Katy Perry, obviously.)
The only thing she needs is something that makes her standout more.
I totally agree again. Ke$ha has a unique quality about her. Katy has that too, even if it's been lost a bit since the Teenage Dream era. I feel that Bonnie does too, she just hasn't showcased it yet. "American Girl" was awesome and I'm still pressed that it flopped, but it really didn't bring anything new to the table and the people who actually heard it probably just thought, "She's another random Katy Perry/Ke$ha wannabe," without actually knowing her involvement in the music industry.
She has the look, she has the talent, she just needs the right material and the right marketing and promotion. She's still coming off as trying to be the next Katy Perry a bit (she can't really help it, Katy adopted her sound during the Teenage Dream era, so they associate it with Katy not Bonnie), and that won't work, because people are happy with the Katy Perry they have now, they don't want another one.

I really think those 80s inspired songs like Hot City and Everything But YOu (tho i don't like this particular song) are the way to go tbh. Also the EDM route she took with Sleepwalker is also a good way to go

Why am I agreeing with everything you're saying and loving you so much tonight?
I only heard these songs yesterday, but Hot City is flawless, and while I know not many people are into Everything But You, I can hear the potential in it. I have a feeling that the final studio version will be a monster. Sleepwalker is also great, and for sure better than American Girl technically, although I prefer American Girl overall since it's such a bop.
