Idk why you guys care whether it had impact on sales or not. Despite everyone bashing it, I think it's a really cool video and it was fun, I'm very pleased with it and I like it even better than Unconditionally.
Even so, if you care about the charts that much it will still help streaming so...
WHAT I was planning on this at least selling 6 million copies. Too optimistic?
Well, let me rephrase that by saying I think it's about to peak.
Umich said earlier this week he was optimistic about it going on to sell 5-6 mil, I think it'll have longevity. (The music video is a good move for that).
Also IDK if anyone's interested but my thoughts on the video:
I had no qualms with the campy fun concept when it was first revealed in the set photo and the trailer. Usually Katy does this kind of thing so well and perfectly on point.
However, I felt the video was poorly executed. Some scenes were visually stunning (the nude snake scene) but they didn't feel cohesive with the rest of the video. There were too many distracting elements, such as the red and blue extras. Juicy J was barely in the thing. And even though there was a plot, it wasn't developed at all and it fell flat. What happens to Katy Patra in the end? It would've been much more effective with just one suitor and to develop that throughout the full video with a satisfying ending at the end.
I guess I can only best sum up my disappointment by saying that I've only watched it twice.
