If you think pop music by its very nature is generic why are you even here.
Plenty of pop music can be transcendent or at the very least artful in some way or another. That song isn't, though. It's rote in pretty much every sense.
That lyric isn't overused, it's just incredibly conceited. She's
her own hero? I mean, most of the rest of the song is an exercise in listing empowerment cliches but that line takes the cake.
