Seohyun's pronunciation is so good tbh, she's too nervous or her grammar is just a mess Sooyoung and Sunny are more comfortable. And Sunny is always so underrated, her family is living in US and she's actually born in US so i don't think she can't speak English
Hyoyeon and Yuri are just At least Hyoyeon is a pro at Chinese
And Tiffany is such a good speaker
Seohyun is really good. I thought Tiffany was rude for her comment about Seo "practicing 100x backstage" it made her look bad and embarrassed.
Sunny probably rehearsed it. In other US interviews she didn't look like she understood what people were saying. Though she wasn't as bad as Taeyeon's blank expression in all the interviews.
Sooyoung is great imo. Yuri is so cute, at least she made the effort *cough*yoona*cough*

effort??? It's just embarassing, if you don't know then put an effort in practicing the lines like Seohyun or stay quiet like Yoona

I think it was cute that she tried to speak the language. Yoona should try more because her accent is actually good. Her "I see my reflection" pronunciation in Reflection is flaw free.
]Yoona makes me laugh the most. She looked like she didn't care to be there but got the loudest applause. Tiffany was quite rude there imo.
I'm sure Seohyun is some kind of genius. Her English is the best of all the non-native English speakers in the group. Plus I saw a video of her speaking Chinese and she sounded so formal it was amazing and her Japanese is one of the best in the group as well. Seohyun how can she do this?
Yeah, it's Tiffany. She's the most arrogant member, even more so when they're in the US.
Seohyun is a genius. She's fluent in Korean, Japanese and English and she's at least conversational in Chinese, but I've read before that she's fluent in that too.
Sooyoung is legit 100% fluent now. Bitch was getting ready for the US debut and her role as the Yoona of the group just to have those 7 years of training wasted on nothing.
Seohyun isn't fluent in Chinese, none of the members can speak Chinese really, Hyo included. The bitch just speaks Korean badly and calls it Chinese tbh.

I didn't actually mind Tiffany until their US promotions. It brought out the worst in her. The way she kept talking over Jessica as if Jessica isn't also fluent in English.
Seohyun is actually really good in Chinese. I don't know how much she can speak, but this video shows that she knows at least enough to look good.

Who isn't?
But i agree that the girl is a genius, she's ready to be the next president
BTW, Beyonce slays that first televised performance of XO

You need to know that every group has a spokeperson. For SNSD, in US it's Tiffany. Jessica, that bitch just doesn't talk at all, i'm scared that she totally forgot how to speak English

But that's also part of the reason why interview-type promotion for K-pop artists in the US doesn't really work. Like when 2NE1 were in the US it was basically the interviewer talking exclusively to CL and the other members sat in silence with the occasional nod or giggle when they felt it might be appropriate. Interviewers want to talk to the whole group and all of the members need to be able to show their personality, so for that they'd all need to be competent English speakers.

Ugh, the whole interview situation in America is ********. They patronise all non-American artists in interviews and it gives nothing for even the most competent of English speakers to bounce back off. I've seen interviews with Big Bang, SNSD, 2NE1 and more with people like Fuse and Billboard and it's so awkward because the Americans are so inconsiderate of the idol's position. I mean, I know CL and GD/Taeyang aren't the most fluent people in English, but they're all really good but yet they freeze in interviews because of the atmosphere.
At least Korean and Japanese interviews are fun.

How can she forget her native language though?
She attended some crappy award event in Macau, October 2013, she spoke English there and sounded fine.
The reporters were horrible though. What kind of flop event was that? The microphones. The guy screaming and shouting in the back. Mess
But aw, she kind of made my heart melt in that video. Let me think Jessica was just timid because she was alone and she doesn't do well when she's not with any of the other members.

American interviewers are rude sometimes. I watch that interview Little Mix did with Wendy Williams and all she asking were about Perrie's relationship with Zayn

Because they either want to talk about music or relationships, and since they don't talk relationships with idols they stick to asking ten thousand questions about the music. It's hard for the idols then since in SK they pretty much don't discuss music before it's released, so to be asked about every little detail is overwhelming.
