Hound Dog is Elvis' most notable hit. I live in Memphis so I can't fairly speak about how well his songs are known elsewhere, but I'm sure that song plus maybe one more are recognizable songs most people know
however I still don't think people are very aware of the Beatles' music. Have never heard of a song by them nor anyone mention one
