Daft Punk had one hit thanks to him and quickly faded back into OBSCURITY.
He's had 2 mega-smashes since then - Happy and BL.
it's their song that propelled him back into the limelight after a decade of irrelevance. it was their hype, he just followed through with it, they didn't
For those of you who care about critics and stuff:

Random Access Memories is Daft Punk's most critically successful album, scoring 87/100 on Metacritic. At the 56th Annual Grammy Awards in 2014, it won Grammy Awards for Album of the Year, Best Dance/Electronica Album and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, and the single "Get Lucky" won for Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. The album was a commercial success and debuted at number one in twenty countries.
How does Pharrell not appreciate the success of Get Lucky? He's been nothing but polite and grateful for working with them. He even performed with them literally the one time they performed the song at all (at the Grammy's).
