I was out at school. I didn't feel the need to make a public announcement, especially not at a graduation ceremony - not the time nor the place. It comes off as an attention ploy.

He felt the need to let people know. Obviously not every LGBT person will. He felt like he was living a lie, if you watched the video surely you would understand.

Please, being gay isn't special. The sooner we normalize it, the better.

Coming out is placating the heterosexuals of the world. NO ONE should have to explain themselves or their sexual orientation for the sake of pleasing their loved ones.
