Hi I'm new to Atrl.
I write my own music/lyrics and produce my own instrumentals as a hobby.

I consider my self as an amateur and I only do it part time. I'm currently working with a music company in Asia.
I also do write lyrics but I don't put them in my songs just yet because I don't know how to use my mic :/

I just got done with a song I've had an idea about, but without the proper sample. Then I finally heard a song I haven't heard in a while that made me remember how great a sample is, and sampled it!
So, the song is called "Sample" and it's about being exactly what sampled artists are to other artists' (I know, serendipitous…) and I'd give you a hint, but the post, it takes too long… so, I've got to sing this song tomorrow and record it for you guys to hear later…

Better safe than sorry seriously. Only show off your weakest work I'd say. I sent some stuff to music executives but I had the copyright logo on it in-case I hear that song on the radio in a few months. I want my money.
It's ridiculous everyone still thinks their lyrics will be stolen when this thread has been around for a year or something and no one's ever remotely stolen anything.
If you put your lyrics in [invisible] tags only ATRL members can see it by quoting your post; lurkers won't be able to see your lyrics.
Gals, this will be a dumb question but, how do you transfer your emotions into lyrics?? I feel like writing something but I don't know how
I find the easiest way to do that is with metaphors. Think of how you feel and find an image that you associate with that feeling. I always try to keep it around a central point and branch out from there. Think of synonyms for that feeling, objects and colors, people. Sometimes I take an emotion and create a fictional story behind it. For example, if I'm feeling really happy about something I'll channel those emotions into a love song or party song, even if I'm not in love/partying. Its all about knowing how and where to direct your emotions. And don't try writing if you aren't inspired, cause it won't work.
