I see it as a little redundant since they're already doing the Demi tour and the 1D fandom is already familiar with them, but any exposure is great. I think it wouldve been smarter to have them open for 1 teen act (Demi or 1D) and 1 adult or urban act to touch different demographics.
They have to start establishing a fanbase outside of the teen crowd to have longevity in their career.
Plus, the girls will be opening for 1D this summer.
