When they are perceived as the "greatest" artists, it's not entirely impossible.
Adele has: the love for XL, Columbia, and her image as an adult artist, sales.
Taylor has: BMR & A2IM pull, the critic love (scoring 70+ three times in a row on MC is telling enough), sales.
Look at how many AOTYs have been won by A2IM members. Only last year it went to mainstream label with active acts, Columbia.

I odn't know the actual sales numbers, but Random Access Memories is #10 on Billboard while Red is #42. The Grammys had helped a lot to Daft Punk, that album was very low before the Grammys as far as i remember.

The "Twilight" films have never been nominated for Academy Awards. I still love "A Thousand Years".
The MM debate is similar to this. Our Lord has proved herself a lot, her next job is creating MIRACLES (maybe LP6?).
For me RED>SN>FEARLESS>DEBUT，really! That's why I was so upset at Grammys.
And LP5>RED because of so many inspirations.

But I don't want to own a Katy Perry album. I want to own a Taylor Swift album. That's what's so disappointing about MM.
RED worked because the songs still had the quirkiness that Taylor expresses. I fear what an album full of MM songs will sound like...

Don't compare her with Katy Perry, it's unfair.
She will always control her music and career.
Edit: I remember Dear John once said she (Taylor) did write her own songs, what will he say about Katy?

I mean, I know the Max Martin sound. Katy did it better than Her. If I want a Max Martin sound, I'd have bought Prism instead of waiting a Taylor album. I'd have gone with the best at it, non?
And surely I care so much about it because I bought it using my coins?

I just don't know MM's feeling about the Billboard 100 number one hit "ROAR" after the "BRAVE" comparison.
Edit: That's the difference, and did anybody complain about her ATW Grammy performance for stealing?
She's the commanding one even when she's learning, many people said she's the boss literally.

Of course, there's no impossible but their chances are very low. I can see the next Adele album getting lower critical acclaim than 21. That's just how this busniess works, when someone is on an untouchable level, people try to make him/her fall. A very clear example of this was Michael Jackson and his Bad album. For Taylor, the reasons are pretty obvious imo, if Red couldnt do it, the next album's job is even harder. She has a chance if in the future (e.g. 15 years later) she's still relevant and making music that is critically acclaimed.
Oh, and i just forgot, another disadvantage for both of them is that they are both female. For females, it's even harder to get a 2nd AOTY win, (no other female could get a 2nd win for her own album)

And that, my friend, to make it happen... She needs to start building Her credibility, like... NOW. This very thing can't be done overnight. She needs to start caring about what kind of legacy She will leave (no, "being a good person" doesn't make your music magically improve quality wise.) And who should She appeal to if She wants to have longevity? Obviously the critics. We all know the gp has a severe case of short attention span. And in case you forget, the culture is always progressing. By time, I'd expect it'd be less difficult for women in the future. It's actually very possible She could pull a shocking win like Herbie Hancock or Robert Plant & Alison Krauss
Also next time, use better example. I don't use that overhyped & overrated pedo.

MM =/= Katy Perry btw. Every pop artist want to work with him in these days. It's just Katy Perry had the most collabs with him and that's pretty understandable, considering he's the person who made her Katy Perry.
MM also won Grammy with kelly Clarkoson, but i agree with Kevinnyc about this. The Grammys doesn't always reward the good music, and MM's not the whole discoghraphy is trash. It's just The Grammys doesn't like him as a producer (maybe it's because he's a foreigner as a Swedish producer, i don't know their reasons) but i can name many great pop songs produced by MM.

Disco, I still remember when Taylor KIND OF threw IKYWT to MM and said I need it HERE to be as chaotic as possible, then MM gave her dubstep which he is not good at.
Edit: IKYWT is my #2 favorite as of now, I am angry again at Grammys.
