Beyonce doing the dual singles is once again proven pointless. Does she not understand that pop audiences like her and appreciate her b/c of her urban songs ? Outside of the 4 era, since when has Bey's urban songs never crossed over? SL the urban single went #1, and IIWAB and Halo didn't. DIL/XO will repeat that.
I think after Ring The Alarm and Upgrade U, she thought pop audiences didn't appreciate her ~urban sound. And not to mention Irreplaceable coming in to confirm that though.
But yes, she should have released the songs separately. Saved XO for fall or something.
I'm quite tired of it. It's actually hurting the potential of one song.
It is. Splitting ai btwn. 2 songs simultaneously is not ideal. It will be funny if Partition outcharts XO. It's already getting traction on urban radio. Quiet as its kept, if urban radio latched onto RTW, it could have peaked higher but that song was a mess for any format & it was rightfully ignored.
If Beyonce was like Mariah or J. Lo, all the 4 singles would have been buzz singles.
I respect that she stuck by RTW but I don't see what she sees in that song. That beat was so played out and those lyrics from her were so reductive when she put out that song. Nothing was fresh about it.
