It's not the first time when she does stupid things, which result in half of MF saving her. Like earlier this season when she decided to go to Tessa's place after hearing that Stefan had allegedly sex with Tess.

If I remember good, they decided to kill Kol to finish the Hunter's mark and made a trap on him... Which eventually worked.
Compassionate Elena didn't think about thousands of vampires who could die, because of her killing Kol (lol like killing Kol along wasn't bad enough), just because she wanted the cure. Later she turned off her humanity switch and killed a lot of people. And also she killed Jesse and she had got thousand other options to do instead of doing this, because he deserved to have a chance like she and Caro had. So it means that she cares only about people she cares about... Just like Katherine. She cares about Stefan, so she helped him with his trauma. She cared about Damon, so she saved him. She cares about Nadia and I'm sure she will her help if she will need her her + Katherine tried saved Elena (twice) and saved Jer. And by saying that Elena's worse than Kath, I meant that by killing Kol she may have much more victims, than Kath had through 500 yrs.

Don't me mad at me for bitching at vampire Elena, but I liked her a lot as a human and I'm confused what they did to her. As a vampire she is a self-obsessed hypocrite while trying to be compassionate and doing totally opposite at the same time.
I'd add Damon on that list, and I'm not sure shouldn't he be before Klaus. He was a good villain in the first season and since then he hasn't really stopped killing.
I think it will happen at the end of the season. Elena will be in another doppleganger ("I think I should learn how to spell it") and Katherine will go to the off-screen land.
All was missing was some extra guyliner.
However TVD keeps being better for me
