I've stumbled upon monsters' facebook pages INFESTED with Madonna hate.
I've seen sites where Madonna fans drag Gaga to the pits
Personally what made me dislike Gaga was her delusion of grandeur not allowing her to recognize her heavily Madonna fluenced singles and videos Post Fame Monster era.
But outside of the net, it's all good
I think it boils down to how much of Gaga's work should be credited to Madonna. Some Little Monsters are too young to understand Madonna's impact on the industry so they probably get annoyed by the constant comparisons. Meanwhile, some Madonna stans think that if Gaga blinks she must be copying Madonna.
I'm a Gaga stan and a fan of Madonna's. I acknowledge Madonna's influence on Gaga but I don't think she is her biggest influence. I see A LOT more David Bowie in Gaga than Madonna. Some of the comparisons to Madonna are really lazy at this point. The Born This Way song and some aspects of the Alejandro video are the only times where I thought "that's clearly inspired by Madonna".
Both fanbases have their bad apples. Twitter Monsters are disgusting, and so are a lot of the ones on LM.com. There's those Madonna stans that run blogs like pawsdown, or make multiple fake identities to write on Examiner.com. And then there's those Madonna fans that claim to have never liked Gaga yet are always the first to post in every Gaga thread.
No, it's called personal taste. Now stop being abrasive sis, you take stanning way too far
It's the other way around tho.. And you both are taking your hate too far and you know it. When I see your avi in a Gaga thread, I know that you dragged her for something. And I don't really give a ****, but I can't help but notice how you are in every thread and then you say here "I've always disliked her music and personality, that's all" ..

Tbh it sort of spiralled because of Madonna shading Gaga nightly at her concerts. Before then it was a case of stans for both Gaga and Madge taking what Madonna said (and assuming her meaning) and turning it into:
Madge stans:
Madonna hates Gaga so we as Madge stans should
Gaga stans:
Madonna hates Gaga so we should hate Madge and her stans
The MDNA tour stuff was petty, and so I can see why it's kept tensions high.

Lies. Madonna never shaded Gaga at any of her concerts, Gaga on the other hand had a passive-aggressive speech against Madonna that invoked ageism in one of her concerts.
Both fan bases are to blame and both need to stop tbh.
We all know Madonna is the 'Queen of Pop' and from what I've been told, it's Gaga's fault they are no longer friends. It is a shame that M couldn't be graceful and just ignore LG's existence as she is clearly not in the Queen's league, yet she continued to taunt her for whatever reason - that was petty on her part. I believe they both respect each other profusely tho.
It could have been a really great friendship and M was teaching G a lot, almost coaching her. Such a shame.

Are you delusional or just lying?
EY + BTW + She's Not Me. Every night she did that medley to shade Gaga.
If that wasn't direct enough:
Please, post some receipts of the ageism you speak of from Gaga. Gaga's speeches about her song being dragged through the mud are apt, and far from passive aggressive. Are you just making stuff up to make Madge seem less in her shades during the MDNA tour?
Madonna thought she was the most original out there, and started accusing Gaga of copying, even when most of her work is derivative of something else. Ever since that, I don't like Madonna. And I feel she tries to hard. And her fans are obsessed with Gaga, and stalk her and make blogs about her. And they also think Madonna is the most original artist out there, and that she invented everything.
If that's how you'd better spend your time then do it, there's tons of Gaga fans pretending to be Madonna fans in here just to slander her as well.
Don't YOU run a facebook page called "ARTFLOP" ?
Didn't YOU take a picture of yourself with the words "ARTFLOP 2013" in black marker on your torso?
I ain't got no time to worry about Madonna or her stans. The fact that you think, breathe and eat Gaga + her stans is scary Monsters don't care. YOU crazy M stans are the one's that continue the war.
Hell. Even your Tumblr blog is filled with hatred.

That's not shading that's singing her songs and dismissing the media comparisons, it's quite clever IMHO and shows once again Madonna's unique sense of humour.
And sorry to dissapoint you but it's not in my nature to make stuff, in fact it's not even me who says it:
Quote:
Gaga then began to cast herself as a victim of bullying, and characterize the comparisons as an attack on the "power" of Born This Way, which she has humbly dubbed, "the anthem for my generation for the next decade."
"I don't even want to fight back," she said, instead of not fighting back. "You could never invalidate the power of "Born This Way..." Things are really different now than they were 25 years ago, and that's what makes "Born This Way" so relevant for me, is that I really want you all to notice this tremendous place that we're in right now. We're just socially in a completely different place and it's okay, we don't all have to slice and hate each other anymore."
The takeaway here is supposed to be that Madonna isn't the victim for having a signature tune lifted by someone who refuses to acknowledge the obvious similarities; Lady Gaga is for having suffered the embarrassment of being called out on it.
Having trouble making this framework work? Just invoke ageism! After all, shouldn't Madonna be mature enough to let it slide? She is, after all, 54-years-old. Heck, she was making music 25 years ago, and things are so different now! Silly old Madge. Doesn't that out-of-touch crone know that today it's totally cool to swipe a melody, tell people the original artist gave you their blessing, and pocket a couple mil' off it? It is undignified not to just let this one go.
Huffington Post (and Monsters should really read the whole thing)
I don't think anyone wants to be friends with Monsters, and with good reason. They've fought with Fighters, the Army, Madonna's fans, etc. I feel like a lot of them have this superiority complex and are very passive aggressive. They never really seem to be happy for other peoples' success... Lady Gaga always has to be brought up to assert that she's "the queen of pop!!!1!!!1!"
That's just my two cents, though. I'm sure there are many lovely Monsters, but the ones I come across on Twitter and some people on here make me want to think otherwise.
