I've always wanted to go to China And Japan
Almost got a trip to a global youth conference there but I don't think I can assist because of my dad's work Hes's taking us to Italy tho so no complaining shadesofwrong, if you're still here what do you advise me apart from the obvious places?

I just don't like the smog and how gross Chinese can be when it comes to China (I despise their public toilet so ****ing much). Add traffic too for Shanghai though. Remnants of imperial past are defo the main attractions for it. And it's not scary omg. Just the usual traveling advices.

And don't mind to book a room in some fancy hotel. Rather to spend extra $ than grossed out.

Btw, a week is not enough if you want to go to a lot of countries. Just pick one. I'd suggest S. Korea. Singapore is so small that you can do in just 3 days. But if you want to shop: HK is the go-to place for counterfeits and luxury brands. Singapore for luxury brands. Malaysia is great, and stuffs there are a lot cheaper than in SG. But even cheaper than Malay is Thailand.

My Dad lives in the CBD of Beijing. It's Chinese New Year this week, so it's mental there currently. I've not been to China myself, but my Dad wants me to go there. I will probably go next winter.

The Forbidden City/Tiananmen Sq, Temple of Heaven are the touristy things to do in Beijing. It's a massive city though and air pollution is a big problem so be aware.

Yas! I can get Shanghai level of entertainment in Singapore. The only thing that matter (to me) from Shanghai is its business expo. That's it.

And bb, when I go there, I go to Shanghai. Not familiar with Beijing. Lemme try to ask my friends first, k?

Well, my Dad only lives there about half the year, in Winter. He comes back to the UK in Summer. This year he's been in China since beginning of Oct and will prob return in April/May.

My Dad says Shanghai is amazing, but he has only been there as a tourist. And he is not the person to ask about hip and happening places anywhere!

Hong Kong is meant to be amazing. Also it's a lot simpler for a tourist as many people speak English there.
