Culturally, Katy Perry has yet to reach the same heights that Lady Gaga did at her height at the turn of the decade. It has become clear that Katy is on a whole different level of commercial success and mass appeal that far and away surpasses Gaga, and I am not betting on that gap getting significantly narrower any time soon. Their names seem to be just about equally recognizable, but at the present moment it seems Katy is the more popular among the majority of people.

MTV Denied Lady Gaga the right to perfom the performance like she wanted to do it (with Bob WIllson etc..) and she had to change it for a week. When she was on ABC she said that she has been thinking about her VMAs performance for MONTHS, do you really believe that she was creating this basic performance for months
