Why sister? Was it the message? Was it the fact that the messy demo leaked and her team did nothing for a month? Was it the fact that she let radio play coons yelling over the chorus? Was it the fact that she didn't perform it for an entire month after it was officially released? Was it the fact that she actually promoted Move Your Body instead of RTW?
It was mainly the fact that she just took the vocals off Pon De Floor and recorded new ones.
4 pretty much just showed that Beyonce could move albums on her name along. It also shows that she has no idea how to handle singles that don't get popular on their own

RTW really ruined the era before it started tbh. A shame becuz 4 is her best album imo. It was such an awful choice for radio single. A song that only is good for the stage. I still think Love on Top should have been her lead and End of Time as 2nd instead of BTINH

countdown would've been perfect as a lead imo (idk how she would perform it live but still) and then party, end of time and love on top. as she should've released love on top right after the vmas instead of a ****ing month later
I loved how Beyonce handled the 4 era. She didn't seem, at least to my knowledge, upset that radios weren't whoring her out. She definitely thought RTW would smash, but it didn't. But she didn't have a meltdown or attack the media. Behind closed doors Beyonce could be shady as hell, but I am glad she's not a public embarrassment.
