that was in dec 2012
Lana del Rey - My best friend posted Video Games on FB when it started to go viral in Summer 2011. Well, there was no turning back since that summernight. I played the song over and over that night. I was a mess next day at work.
Wasn't here for Pon de Replay at all. I would hear it on the radio all the time and didn't like it at all.
Then I remember being at a friend's house one day and we were watching a music video channel on TV and the If It's Lovin That You Want video came on. She was just so adorable and the song was so cute, and I've loved her ever since!
Well I grew up on Destiny's Child and took a liking to Beyoncé back then.I remember when she went solo how I loved all her singles, I watched her perform at the 2003 VMA's and thought it was amazing, and I was a fan up until the middle of Bday era when BL came out. I didn't use her during IASF it wasn't until late into the 4 era that I discovered how much of her music I did like and fell in love again. I bought Beyoncè and it truly sealed the deal.
Rihanna was someone I wasn't to fond of in her early career. I liked her singles but found her to be bland. Despite Umbrella and me liking all the singles from GGGB I found her to be annoying. Right After Rated R was released I bought the album because I liked Russian Roulette so much. I started getting into the album and watching her interviews and I loved her somehow she gained a personality and Loud made me love her so I've been stanning since 09.
I have always liked Madonna but her superbowl performance made me get into her music in depth and Music, COADF, Bedtime Stories, ROL, and some of her other singles won me over. She's fallen off harshly musically tho which is why I don't use anything after 05.
I was never into pop music like ever until high school because I completely blocked out like all forms of entertainment for myself, I just thought it would be best like that, idk.
The only pop moment that ever really reached me was when Single Ladies was at its peak and people all over the school were making parody videos of it and posting them on MySpace. Also the video came on the morning and afternoon news several times, I didn't think much about it though.
Then I finally got my first phone with Internet access, I spent some time on YouTube and I remember seeing Gaga perform BTW at the Grammys I think, I thought it was great. Then I got iTunes and I bought Katy Perry and Adele singles, and Jessie J's Domino. Then one day my sister iPod and I loved Halo, Irreplaceble and if I were a Boy. Later that month my family and I went to my cousins house and she was playing music on her new Mac and Listen came on and I was completely flored, never had I ever heard so much!!! That's when I started studying Beyonce's performances and everything about vocals, I remember staying up till like 4 in the morning reading YouTube comments about her voice. Whenever I searched things online about Bey being the best Atrl would often come up so I signed up when I could and now I'm here. I find everyone else, besides P!nk to be quite mediocre. I would always wonder how some things are considered to be iconic on atrl, but they would never reach someone like me, who used to not be obsessed with the media.
I discovered her by watching World Idol, then I had 'A Moment Like This' on repeat (I had to import the CD from the USA, I live in the Netherlands). Then Thankful came out and it slayed me, then Breakaway happened.. Hearing all those songs for the first time, o m g, it was the time I loved most being a stan. I've never been slayed more by music.
