Belle remains unbothered. But yeah, Prince Eric is such a hottie, and also Ariel's sort of in-between places (not quite fully human but doesn't want to be a mermaid), which I guess a lot of gays can relate to, being excluded or feeling left out of their communities (see: "Outside" by Mariah Carey)
I read a study on this once. Apparently, Gay or Trans children are drawn to Mermaids because of the ambiguity of their genitalia, or something along those lines.
