Typo. Let's not play the grammar game. What you don't understand is that Britney probably won't ever promote again. I know that one promo performance won't kill her but its time to let go and move on.
Babe we gotta let it go
Move on can't hold on when love's broken
This is going to be our last goodbye
Our love is gone but I'll survive
Hide my tears and dry my eyes
You don't need to see me cry
Pack my bags can't take no more
Adios I'm out the door
Hide your tears and dry your eyes
Cause I don't want to see you cry

This is not true. Performances have a humongous effect on catalogue sales (see: Beyoncé and P!nk) and current sales figures. The reason the Grammy boosts weren't that big was because everyone who performed had already done a promo blitz and nobody put on an insane performance. Considering how well the performers did, they all got very sizeable boosts.
It is true that a promo campaign does matter much earlier in a campaign, though. But to think promo doesn't matter is a kii. Just look at "Let Her Go's" slayage after the Super Bowl. I could name a billion projects that sold off of a huge promo campaign off the top of my head (see: "Applause" and 4) if you really want me to
Oh, well, by promo I thought you mean performances. Obviously a commercial would be more long-lasting. And that's something that you can't really pin on Britney, tho. She doesn't decide what goes on a commercial and what doesn't.
Either way, Applause had a Kia commercial as well and I know there were some others as well including Microsoft and Beats [poor you]. And 4 had a Target deal, as did Pink and JT. Target deals include commercials that are aired on public television, ads on streaming sites like YT & Spotify, and promotion in Target stores across the country.

Honestly, I just want her to give us a half-assed GMA performance and a Target deal next era/BJ re-release. Is that too much to ask? I've given up on the billboards, actual TV ads for the single/album and stuff like that, I think I deserve those other two.

Don't eff with me and my Beats commercial.
Those are all forms of promo and ridiculously important. Performances are also really important, though. There's a reason "Womanizer," which was just as big as "Single Ladies," only sold 3 million in the U.S., whereas "Single Ladies" is at 5 million in the U.S. And what's most important for a successful era is the era right after it. Part of why ...Baby One More Time sold so much was that Oops!...I Did It Again was so successful and Britney continued to promote her debut studio album.

I'm there with you. She could even do photoshoots and commercials. I get she has anxiety, but every thing else she could just pre-record.
The reason Womanizer only sold 3 million and SL sold 5 million is because the latter was a phenomenon and Womanizer was "just" a big hit. If Britney had given 10 more performances of Womanizer, it still wouldn't have sold 5 million.
TV commercials, ads, deals with Target/Walmart are her best bet. Cheaper prices for her albums + heavy iTunes marketing also.
Britney and performing is never gonna work with the way she performs now. It's always counter productive
& I'm sure everyone by now has realized how bleak Britney Jean is, right? Like how can anyone still listen to most of this record.....
will.i.stop is just the worst ever. Good music is always going to be the best selling point. And this era was not it. Even FF with all the horrible things around still sold decently and had hits because the songs were good. Generic but still good. BJ is generic and bad.

"Single Ladies" was not that phenomenal. Nobody even watched the video debut. I stanned the bitch at the time and missed it. Catalogue sales are heavily, heavily affected by continuing to perform. Look at Norah Jones and Beyoncé. I'm not saying the song didn't blow up because it was a huge hit, but her support came from being on SNL, performing at every awards show, etc. not just because she released it and people liked it. Look at Rihanna. Even though she has ridiculous radio support, her singles will sell considerably more when she actively promotes them. "Diamonds" barely sold 3 million whereas "Only Girl" sold like 500k more thanks to heavier promo.
I agree she needs to step her game up, though it's not like she's even nearly as bad as Rihanna, Nicki, Katy or the lot.
I still think BJ is great, it's just not notable. It's too safe and obscure. Most people aren't smart enough to get that "Hold On Tight" is about wanting to die, a struggle when trying to understand how it's a personal album, or that the "Brightest Morning Star" is Jesus, despite him being the most famous person ever and the Bible being the best-selling book of all-time. She needs to be a little more upfront with it and fake cry like Beyoncé next time, imo, if she wants to sell personal.

I can and still do, but then again I haven't caused permanent brain damage by watching and praising "performers" who look like epileptics on stage either.
