it's going to feel SO WEIRD when/if she *restarts* this era with the current music we have. ie if she randomly decides to move on to Gypsy or venus or GUY or Dope etc.

Minimalism. It's something she's trying to fight but really it would set her free.
There's a reason why the "ARTPOP" performance from iTunes festival is the best this era. There's also a reason why ARTPOP and Dope are the best and most praised tracks on the album.
Gaga is a great musician who changed the pop landscape with her theatricality. Now it's time for her to strip it down but still keep it sleek and avantgarde.
Streamlining. That's the real key.
I suppose it was by prerogative of the fact that her budget was a lot less back then, but having to reuse the origami dress, the hair bow or the bubble dress all the time allowed Gaga's looks to settle in the public consciousness and become recognisable.
The cohesion seems to be missing now fashion-wise and even in the videos where aesthetics used to be clearly defined in separate verses and choruses, now it's literally just throw everything together
With her fashion it is literally the point where one second she's a Versace model and the next she's ridden Rocket #9 straight out the bowels of hell
I'm not saying she's always been incredibly consistent but her act was more focused before. There needs to be a balance of being ballsy and holding back.
TF/M can't be repeated. She had novelty on her side then, and that made her sound/look/performances/persona/stunts much cooler because they were fresh. You can only bleed on stage once, only wear meat once, only be carried down the red carpet in an egg once etc. and after that it's done. She had the right collaborators and right songs at the right time. Making "another Poker Face/Bad Romance" won't work, and working with RedOne doesn't guarantee anything. Nor any other creative collaborators.
All she had to do back then was have iPod glasses and a disco stick. She - and we - have evolved from that. She can't just wap out a new prop designed by Matthew Williams now and get the same results. People barely acknowledge her riding down the red carpet on a puppet horse and flying around a warehouse these days - some cool prop isn't going to cut it. She's done all that and we expect it - what's next?

It was just really insane, down to the lighting and stage design, this guy Winky… She just had the best team possible and the music… It was almost not fair, it was like the NBA All-Star team. And then slowly everybody decided to do their own other things... But she was making great music at that time, and through Nicola she was working with the best image makers in the world. At that time, Hedi was designing and we got Hedi to do that album cover, and that was like really huge and respected and the same thing with Nick [Knight] - we got him to do all of the show visuals. And if you start there, like with Nick and Hedi, then you have the gates open to you. So. It’s really unexplainable, it’s just the perfect storm, she had the best of everything. I’m not gonna be ignorant in any way and say that can be recreated for everybody.

I was recently thinking about how many of my friends were hardcore monsters, even up through MTN, and now it's just me and my best friend And she has kinda taken a break from Gaga because she doesn't like all the negativity this era.
Some friend told me this morning that she would love a Gaga and Christina collab and I was like...
Speaking of collabs, for the next album I need ha to feature Drake and Rihanna. A Britney collab would be cute too but I don't think she could really care about promoting it or even acknowledge it
I can only hope Gaga has finally taken the weight off her shoulders from managing this era by herself, came to her senses, and contacted the Illuminati for a truce.
