I know that is very true, but it always depends on how you say it and how you interpret it. Though 99% percent of the time, members call other people "it" as a derogatory remark, which was definitely the case here.
But about Blue Ivy, you already knew her gender when you mentioned her, so you could have easily said "she" instead of "it".
