My guess: Taylor started working on LP 5 a bit too late, she started working on it in late June opposed to her other albums, on which she started to work on like 2 months after the preceding album. And Taylor needs 2 years to finish an album...so there was no way she was going to be touring all the world while giving LP5 proper time to finish it.

exactly what I'm thinking.. she took way too long of a break from writing, and if the label wants the album every two years, they can make the executive decision to end her tour and force her finish it. it doesn't make it right, but it can happen..

And then Scott said that they hope to release it before her 25th birthday, but they had a lot of work left. So it seemed like things changed/the album took a different direction since she said that, a direction that required more work, it seems.

I d suplort her even if went full pop. What disappoints me is, her team just ignored the rest of the world just because they can't maximize profits.
