Have you ever heard an old Madonna song on the radio?
Have you ever heard an old Janet song on the radio?
Their careers must be total payola!
i hear holiday alot actually! she was never the massive radio artist that moo was either. didnt most of her songs spend multiple weeks atop the radio chart, most radio #1s till rihanna etc like you said. for someone who was arguably the biggest radio artist of the 90s, her reccurent play is scetchy to say the least

"Maleficent" is an Angelina Jolie film, of course the plot will be mundane.
...Vin
You people make it seem like she has never been in a good movie Either way [Jolie's Lips] it doesn't matter cause Angelina is currently above the film industry, she's among the likes of Queen Elizabeth, etc [Jolie's Lips]
Is today discredit Mariah day? I don't get why people don't see her as a legend.
Most of her music may be forgettable but Mariah is one of the most influential vocalists of our time, she has a nice and diverse catalog of hits esp for an AC songstress , and she's maintained relevancy/longevity well.
Mariah is not a legend and will never be. Not everyone who is successful or has longevity is a legend. Legend is a BIG title. For example P!nk will also never be a legend.

Celine and Kylie fit that description more than Mariah does, Mariah is the 2nd most influential vocalist after Whitney of the modern era
"Betcha Gon' Know" is the best song on "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel." Mariah Carey has so much swag on that record. I love the way she says, "Mmm-I'm all right. Lil' sleep n' I'll be fine." Britney Spears would have also killed "Betcha Gon' Know," too, since she has that same amount of Mariah swag. Could have been her "Why Should I Be Sad (Part II)," which I'm still waiting for.
Janet is the biggest legend of all tbh. She was an inventor.
-headset mics & new jack swing genre
-military style choreo, social justice concept album
-crop top/bellyring look (every popgirl after followed that look in the 90s)
- Youtube and the term wardrobe malfunction.

She is a pop legend. I usually say R&B legend but your kinda racist so I won't go there.
