Give it up iHype, lol. You're not gonna convince anyone that Mariah is a legend. Like I said in the other thread, a chart legend, sure, but she's nothing more than that. She has no respect from the critics, she has no acclaimed piece of work, she has a few memorable songs but only ONE classic and its a holiday song, and her album sales are rivaled by many who came out / were successful in the same period. She was NOT an "ADELE" for 10 years. That would mean Celine, Whitney, & Shania were on the same level too. ADELE's success with 21 is only rivaled by Thriller, but that's another topic.

Did you even live through the 90s? Nobody took her seriously and nobody does now. She gets complimented on having a good voice in the past, just like Celine but ultimately they're the poster kids for 90s cheesy ballads.

Mariah was taken seriously as a vocalist up until Rainbow and then her breakdown when she became a national joke for a week or two and her behavior now hasn't helped that much. She is a pop legend regardless of what anyone on here believes.
