Well it is true. It is much easier to sing like Pepcé than to sing like Mariah so that's why a lot of female singers prefer the over the top belting rather than all the technical stuff.
And JT is also much easier to imitate, so there are probably more guys who have him as idol.

JT is more inspirational than Usher but Mariah is way more inspirational than Beyonce.
Usher is more inspirational than JT.
Every new male R&B artist (Miguel, Ne-Yo, etc) have similarities to Usher. There is no artists out today with any similarities or styles from JT. He was a fad.
